Nexpro contains a medicine called Esomeprazole. This belongs to a group of medicines called ‘proton pump inhibitors’. They work by reducing the amount of acid that y our stomach produces. It is S-isomer of omeprazole that binds to H+/K+-exchanging ATPase (proton pump) in gastric parietal cells, interfering with the final step of acid release in the stomach. Thus, acidity in the stomach is decreased.
