No Additional Information
Gabapin Tablet contains Gabapentin as the active ingredient which is an antiepileptic medication. It decreases pain and seizures by modulating calcium channel activity of the nerve cells.
Gabapentin is structurally related to the neurotransmitter GABA but is neither a GABA agonist nor antagonist. High affinity gabapentin binding sites are located throughout the brain. These sites correspond to the presence of voltage-gated Ca channels particularly controlling the α-2/δ-1 subunit. This channel appears to be located presynaptically and may modulate the release of excitatory neurotransmitters which participate in epileptogenesis and nociception.
Gabapin is used to treat epilepsy and chronic pain conditions.
