Spanbec contains Glimepiride as the active ingredient which is a "second-generation" sulfonylurea agent. Glimiperide stimulates the insulin release from pancreatic cells and reduces glucose output from the liver. It also increases insulin sensitivity at peripheral target sites.

Direction to Use
Take this medicine by mouth, just before or with the first main meal of the day (usually breakfast). If you do not have breakfast you should take the medicine on schedule as prescribed by your doctor. It is important not to leave out any meal when you are on Spanbec.
•Swallow the tablets whole with at least half glass of water. Do not crush or chew the tablets.
