FORACORT Rotacaps are a combination of budesonide, a potent glucocorticoid, and formoterol fumarate, a selective, long-acting beta2-agonist.
Budesonide is a potent glucocorticoid that binds with high affinity to the glucocorticoid receptor which works by stopping the release of certain chemical messengers that cause inflammation (swelling) of the airways.
Formoterol is a very potent, long-acting, beta2 adrenoceptor-agonist with a high intrinsic activity and a rapid onset of action which works by relaxing the muscles in the airways and widens the airways.
Formoterol (6mcg) + Budesonide (400mcg)
