Monocef contains Ceftriaxone as the active ingredient which binds in one or more of the pencillin-binding proteins that inhibits the final transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan synthesis in bacterial cell wall, thus inhibiting biosynthesis and arresting cell wall assembly resulting in bacterial cell death.
Treatment of :
• Bacterial infections such as gonorrhea
• Pelvic inflammatory disease
• Middle ear infection
• Meningitis and infections of the lungs , ears, skin, urinary tract, blood ,bones, joints and typhoid

Common Side Effects of Monocef are Rash, Abnormal liver function tests, Diarrhoea.
