Cefantral Injection contains Cefotaxime which is a cephalosporin antibiotic, a type of 'broad spectrum' anti-biotic which acts against numerous Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. Specifically it treats joint infections, meningitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, pneumonia, sepsis, urinary tract infections, gonorrhea, and cellulitis. It is administered into the body by injecting it either into a vein or a muscle.
