Glipride Tablet contains Glimepiride as the active ingredient which is an anti-diabetic medication. Glimepiride works by stimulating the insulin release from pancreatic beta cells and reduces glucose output from the liver. It also increases insulin sensitivity at peripheral target sites.
Glipride Tablet is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. It is used in addition to diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes.
Direction to Use
Take this medicine by mouth, just before or with the first main meal of the day (usually breakfast). If you do not have breakfast you should take the medicine on schedule as prescribed by your doctor. It is important not to leave out any meal when you are on Glipride.
Swallow the tablets whole with at least half glass of water. Do not crush or chew the tablets.
Common Side Effects of Glipride are Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level), Nausea, Headache, Dizziness.
