Syscan contains Fluconazole as the active ingredient which is a triazole antifungal drug used in the treatment and prevention of superficial and systemic fungal infections.
Fluconazole works by inhibiting cytochrome P450-dependent enzymes thereby inhibiting the biosynthesis of ergosterol, which is the principal sterol of fungal plasma membrane. This results in plasma membrane permeability changes and inhibition of growth.
